Tanya Printed in Roatán: A Decade-Long Journey of Divine Providence

This Purim in Roatán, Honduras, marked a historic milestone—the long-awaited printing of the Tanya, a project over a decade in the making, finally became a reality • Full Story

More than ten years ago, plans were set in motion to establish a Chabad presence in Roatán. As part of this vision, efforts were made to print the Tanya on the island, in accordance with the Rebbe’s directive to spread the wellsprings of Chassidus to every corner of the world. A PDF file was prepared, mapping the precise locations for each printing, and Tanyas were printed throughout Central America—yet Roatán remained just out of reach.

Repeated attempts to physically reach the island were met with unforeseen obstacles, leaving the project in limbo for years. But this year, a group of bochurim—Shruli Lebovic, Bentzi Mishulovin, Yonah Greenwald, and Mendel Dahan—traveled from New York to Roatán for Purim. Their primary mission was to read the Megillah for a small group of Israeli businesspeople living on the island, as well as for Jewish travelers, particularly those arriving on the many cruise ships that dock there weekly.

Amidst their Purim Mivtzoim, they seized the moment to fulfill the long-delayed mission and print the Tanya on the island—a powerful act of Divine Providence, fittingly carried out on a day imbued with hidden miracles.

Now, Roatán has its own printed Tanya. Even the most distant places can be illuminated with the light of Chassidus.
