Students of Lemaan Yilmedu Take Exams

Last week, a series of exams were held for the students of the Machon Lemaan Yilmedu in various curricula, with the rabbanim of the Vaad Semicha of the Machon • Full Story

The series of exams began with students learning Hilchos Shabbos, Orach Chaim, Choshen Mishpat, and Hilchos Kashrus, with Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Marlow, Rav of the Chabad community in North Miami. For an entire evening, Rabbi Marlow tested the classes, alongside the maggidei shiur: Rabbi Shalom Zirkind, Rabbi Zalman Mergui, Rabbi Asher Webb, and Rabbi Mordechai Hecht.

An additional exam was held separately for the students studying Semicha – Issur V’heter, in a special program for them. Rabbi Gedalia Oberlander, Rav of the Chabad community in Kingston, Pennsylvania, tested them on the simanim they studied in Hilchos Taaruvos and Basar v’Chalav.

The final exam was conducted by the Mara d’Asra and member of the Badatz of Crown Heights, Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, who tested the talmidim in the Semicha program for balabatim, alongside the maggid shiur, Rabbi Yossi Barber. First, an exam was held for students residing in Crown Heights, and afterward, a test was conducted for students participating in the Zoom learning program.

All the rabbanim praised the students’ dedication to their studies and their review of the material, as well as their knowledge of the halachos they were tested on. The rabbanim encouraged the students to continue their efforts and spoke about the great importance of learning halacha.

In the coming days, exams will also be held for students in the programs learning Hilchos Chuppa v’Kiddushin, Shabbos in-depth study, and hadracha for chassanim, with Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov, following exams that were held for talmidim of the Dayanus track and the Hilchos Nidda curriculum.

Rabbi Chaim Yisrael Wilhelm, the menahel at Lemaan Yilmedu, expressed satisfaction with the success of the exams and the revolution in the study of halacha, which his father, Rabbi Zushia Wilhelm A”H began, recognizing the need to establish an institution for high-level study of halacha.
