Chabad of Springfield, Illinois directed by Rabbi Mendy and Mrs. Sara Turen, hosted a beautiful summer backyard barbecue with over 65 people in attendance.
The state capital’s Jewish community enjoyed a buffet of kosher sausages, hamburgers, and shish kebobs followed by a sweet table of desserts.
Rabbi Turen also addressed the crowd on the significance of the upcoming month of Elul and spoke of the urgency for the coming of Moshiach. Many Jews had the opportunity to put on Tefillin.
The crowd prepared a special surprise for Rabbi Turen in honor of his birthday.
