Thousands joined Chabad of Argentina, who hosted an event ahead of the auspicious day of Gimmel Tammuz in Buenos Aires.
Argentina’s newly-elected President Javier Milei, deliberately joined the event with Shliach Rabbi Zvi Greenblatt unannounced and at his request sat on the sidelines on the upper floor of the auditorium to participate without gaining the attention of the large crowd.
Shliach Rabbi Chaim Aurichman of Buenos Aires, who was in contact with the President before he arrived at the event, said that “it was the President’s personal request that he requested and preferred that the Rebbe be the center of the event. And that the President himself would sit on the sidelines as a Chossid longing to hear the Rebbe’s Divrei Torah.”
At the beginning of the event, Israeli Ambassador Eyal Sela read a kapital Tehillim in honor of the hostages and soldiers and Rabbi Eliyahu Hamra read a kapital Tehillim in honor of the Jews of Argentina. The main speech was given by the Shliach Rabbi Moshe New of the Montreal Torah Center, who was the guest of the evening and captivated the audience.
