The President of the Republic of Ecuador, Mr. Daniel Noboa, paid a moving official state visit this week to The Kosel, as part of his official diplomatic trip to Israel. The delegation was welcomed by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who guided the president.

During the tour, President Noboa and the rabbi read together Psalm 121. Following that, the president stood silently by the stones of the Wall and offered a personal prayer for success in his role, for the peace of his people, and for strengthening the ties between the Republic of Ecuador and Israel. He also placed a personal note between the stones.

At the conclusion of the visit, the president held a lengthy meeting with the Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites in his office, during which he expressed his unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish people. He declared that his country will continue to stand alongside Israel in its just fight against terror — a struggle he himself is leading in his own country on behalf of citizens who seek to live in peace.
