Emergency responders from Magen David Adom were dispatched to the scene and found a harrowing sight: a private vehicle riddled with bullets. Inside, a woman in her 30s lay unconscious, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Beside her was her husband, approximately 40 years old, fully conscious but also shot, desperately trying to stop the bleeding of the woman next to him.
The woman, reportedly in advanced stages of labor, was rushed to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva in critical condition. Medical teams performed an emergency delivery and successfully delivered the baby boy, who is currently in stable condition. The mother remains in intensive care as doctors fight to stabilize her.
The wounded man was also transported to Beilinson Hospital. Although initially listed in serious condition, doctors later reported that his condition had improved and is now considered light. He continues to receive treatment.
Initial investigations reveal that terrorists fired on at least three vehicles in the area, with one sustaining direct hits. Disturbingly, witnesses said that laser pointers were used to mark the target before the shooting began.
IDF forces launched an extensive manhunt in the area immediately following the attack. A military spokesperson confirmed: “A terrorist fired at an Israeli vehicle. As a result of the attack, two Israeli civilians were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment.”
This brutal attack is yet another painful reminder of the ongoing threat of terror facing Jews in Eretz Yisroel. As we continue through the days of Sefirah, may we increase in Ahavas Yisroel and Torah observance, and may we witness immediate healing for the wounded and justice for those responsible.
