Police arrived in Chomesh Tuesday morning and destroyed buildings, uprooted infrastructure and even ruined the electricity of the yeshiva, which has been active there for over a decade. Police also demolished structures erected by families who had come to strengthen Jewish presence at the site. However they did not demolish the yeshiva itself.
In the wake of the destruction, the families moved into tents in order to protect their families from rain and wind. The families are continuing their stay in Chomesh in order to demonstrate that the government cannot present a prize to terrorists and evacuate the yeshiva in the wake of the brutal terror attack in which Yehuda Dimentman HyD was murdered.
The Chomesh yeshiva declared that “there are those who think that the murder of Yehuda Dimentman is an opportunity to continue the disengagement and give a prize to terrorists. The tremendous support we are receiving from tens of thousands of people arriving in Chomesh in cold and rain, prevents this goal from being implemented.
“This is why policement are being sent in the morning to remove mothers and children from tents. We call on the public to strengthen our hold on Chomesh and prevent the destruction of the yeshiva.”
