Thursday Night, Rosh Chodesh Kislev was an uplifting Yom Tov for the Bochurim in Beis Menachem Poconos “Wilkes”. Wednesday night the students had the honor to hear inspiring words and miracle stories of shlichus told firsthand by Rabbi Dovid Tiechtel. The Rabbi on campus in Champagne, Illinois was equal sides stimulating and entertaining.
On Thursday night all the staff sat together with the students and shluchim for a Rosh Chodesh seuda. The meal was opened with a Hakhel event followed by a video of the Rebbe on the story of the heart attack and subsequent recovery. The Bochurim listened to detailed depictions of every moment in that tumultuous time from the perspective of the doctors and the yeshiva hanhala.
The atmosphere in the room during the celebration was inspiring and uplifting. Everyone was united as a family even as the farbrengen broke up into smaller clusters. Each bochur felt the palpable energy of the auspicious day, took it in and made it real to themselves.
