Passengers Stranded in Moldova After Israel-Bound Flight Cancelled Due to Seating Issue
Some 150 passengers who were supposed to be on a flight from Kishinev, Moldova to Israel claim that due to a mistake by the flight company, an entire group of Jews were taken off their plane and the flight was cancelled. On a recent flight from Kishinev, Moldova to Jerusalem, Israel, a group of around 150 passengers claim that they were taken off their plane and the flight was subsequently cancelled due to a mistake made by the Air Moldova company. According to the passengers, the mistake involved the registration of two individuals with similar names as one person, leading to an issue with seating arrangements on the plane.
As tensions rose between the passengers and flight staff over the seating issue, the pilot announced that he was cancelling the entire flight and all passengers were forced to disembark. Upon returning to the terminal, the passengers, most of whom had been visiting Uman, were ordered to leave the terminal by local authorities. When they refused to do so and demanded another flight to take them to their destination, police intervened and began forcibly removing them from the terminal. According to one passenger, police used electric shockers on at least one person and confiscated phones from those attempting to document the incident.
The passengers are now stranded in Moldova, with the next flight to Israel not scheduled until two days later. It is unclear how the issue with the Air Moldova registration will be resolved, or how the stranded passengers will be accommodated in the meantime. The situation has sparked outrage and frustration among the affected individuals, who feel that they have been treated unfairly and with disrespect.
