On Shabbos: Four Hostages Released from Terror Group to Israel

In a moment of both relief and outrage, four Israeli female soldiers, who were abducted by Hamas on October 7 from the Nachal Oz base near the Gaza border, were finally released on Shabbos. The hostages—Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag—were handed over in a grotesque spectacle orchestrated by the Hamas terror group, as they were paraded through Gaza in front of an audience of armed terrorists • Full Story

The soldiers were forced to smile and wave as they were delivered to the Red Cross, while Hamas showcased their propaganda, even throwing candy to the crowd from a drone.

Upon their return to Israel, the four women were safely transported to the Re’im IDF facility, where they underwent medical checks and were reunited with their families. IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari confirmed they were in good physical condition. However, Hagari slammed Hamas for violating the terms of the hostage deal by releasing soldiers before the civilian women, calling it a clear breach of their commitment.

While the return of these soldiers is a moment of great relief, our concerns remain high for the remaining civilian hostages, particularly Arbel Yehud, who was supposed to be freed on Shabbos but was not. Israel has delayed the return of Arabs to northern Gaza, refusing passage until Yehud’s release is secured.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Hamas’s actions, emphasizing that they failed to uphold their promises and continue to act in bad faith.
