NYPD Planing to Boost Security in Shuls for Yom Tov

Officials shared the NYPD’s plan for increased patrols at Shuls. The annual briefing came just days after a Pakistani national was arrested for attempting to enter the U.S. illegally and plot to attack a Shul in Crown Heights as reported here.
“The acts of October 7 radically shifted our reality. We now live in a time where preparation, vigilance and collaboration make all the difference,” Police Commissioner said.
Police officials say the department plans to add additional security patrols.
“The NYPD will be increasing our presence around synagogues and other sensitive locations. You will see uniformed officers out on patrol,” Caban said.
The briefing comes just days after a Pakistani national in Canada was arrested in connection with a plot to enter the U.S. illegally and attack at a Jewish center in Brooklyn.
