The New York City area will have to deal with extreme heat for at least the next three days as heat index values could hit close to 100, according to forecasts.
Thursday is expected to be extremely hot, with temperatures reaching 93 degrees in the city in addition to the added humidity.
The National Weather Service has extended the heat advisory for NYC until Friday, 8 p.m. as temperatures are expected to continue to be in the low 90s for most of the day Friday.
Shabbos could see temperatures crack the 90s again, but current forecasts show it will reach a high of 88 degrees. Rain could dampen the nice weather as a scatter shower in the afternoon could make its way to the area, forecasters said.
Sunday is projected to be similar, with temperatures reaching 87 degrees and 45 percent chance of rain during the day.
There is good news for next week, as Monday looks to bring back the sunny skies and hot weather as temperatures climb back to 92 degrees.
