Northern Arrows: Senior Hezbollah Official Likely Eliminated

Nearly half of Hezbollah’s medium- and long-range missile arsenal destroyed • Most senior military official left in Hezbollah Likely Eliminated, Hezbollah denies the reports • Hundreds of rockets fired at northern and central Isreal in the past 24 hours • Full Story, Watch

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, announced that the name of the operation in the northern arena is: “Northern Arrows”.

Israeli officials estimate that nearly half of Hezbollah’s medium- and long-range missile arsenal was destroyed by today’s airstrikes.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says the Israeli Air Force has struck some 1,300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon today, and is continuing to strike at this hour.

In a press conference, Hagari says the targets were largely weapons stored in homes, including “cruise missiles that can reach hundreds of kilometers, heavy rockets with a 1,000-kilogram warhead, medium-range rockets that reach a range of up to 200 km, short-range rockets, and armed unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Ali Karaki, the most senior military official left in Hezbollah after recent assassinations, reportedly targeted and killed in Beirut airstrike Monday evening.

The IDF announced that it had carried out a “targeted airstrike” in Beirut Monday evening.

According to reports in Lebanon and Israeli security sources, the airstrike was an attempt to assassinate senior Hezbollah official Ali Karaki, commander of the terrorist organization’s southern command.

Karaki was supposed to replace Ibrahim Aqil as the head of Hezbollah’s operations division after Aqil was assassinated together with the commanders of the Radwan Force in a Beirut basement on Friday.

He is the most senior military figure left in Hezbollah after the assassinations of Fuad Shukr and Aqil.

Sky News Arabic reported that Karaki was killed in the airstrike, which consisted of six missiles that struck the building in which he was staying.

In Israel, the assessment is that Aqil was eliminated in the airstrike.

Hezbollah denies reports that top commander Ali Karaki was killed in the airstrike in Beirut, saying Karaki is in full health and is being moved to a safe place.

The terror group doesn’t provide any proof of its claim.
