The Jewish community of Troy, New York, decided to help everyone learn and prepare for the month of Tishrei, the question was how to get everyone involved? Well at first we thought let’s put up an information table downtown Troy to help inform people about it.

But then it dawned on them why should we just have a small table let us make for the first time ever a Jewish fair in troy! We said what can be a better theme in Elul than to wish l’chaim to one another, so we called it the ‘To life’ festival. We presented a holiday table, Tefillin table, 7 mitzvos table, and of course Jewish ethnic foods.

We wanted to make history so we made the world’s largest knish of 18 feet long, Rabbi Morrison told the Mayer that New York may be the big apple, but Troy is the big knish.

The knish was 18 feet long, to present ‘Chai’ for the ‘To Life’ festival.

We were happy to see the success of over 200 people that came and were informed about the high holidays!

Many people who never got chance to put on Tefillin, B”H did so, of course there were many Bar Mitzvas!
