We are thrilled to announce that we will be moving to Surprise, Arizona to establish Chabad of Surprise!
Surprise was just one square mile of farmland back in 1938 when it was founded. Its founder once commented that ‘she would be surprised if the town ever amounted to much’.
Back in the year 2000, Surprise only had a population of 30,000 people. During the next 24 years Surprise saw rapid and tremendous growth. By 2023 the population grew to over 150,000.
Surprise has been a “Top 25 Growth City” in America every year since 2020!
Rabbi & Mrs Lew (Batya’s Parents) are the Rebbe’s Shluchim to the West valley of Phoenix, where they have been servicing for 25 years.
Our mission is to establish a Jewish center that will provide a warm and welcoming space for all the Jews of Surprise, no matter their affiliation, age, or background. Services such as Classes, Shabbat and holiday dinners, events, programs, and services will be provided to help Jews connect with their Judaism.
