San Marcos La Laguna is a village on the western shore of Lago Atitlán in the Sololá Department of Guatemala.
Rabbi Mendy and Chaya Mushka Tzikvashvili moved to San Marcos, Guatemala to establish a permanent Chabad presents in the city in 2024.
The Chabad House provides the following services: A center for community residents and travelers, Shabbat night meals, Shabbat Day meals, weekday prayers, Shabbat prayers and more.
What is a Chabad house? Beit Chabad is a Jewish community center of the Chabad-Lubavitch Chasidic movement. These centers provide a variety of services and activities for Jewish individuals and families, including religious education, social events and community programs.
They also often serve as a place for Jewish travelers to find a welcoming and inclusive community, as well as assistance with kosher food and other religious needs.
The Chabad houses were established by emissaries sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe Shlit”a, Chabad houses can be found in almost every region around the world.
