During a ceremony held at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Guy Markizano was promoted to the rank of Major General and officially assumed his new position as Military Secretary to the Prime Minister.
Shortly before the ceremony began, the newly appointed general met with his friend, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Ofen, the Rebbe’s shliach to the IDF and Israel’s security forces. During the meeting, Major General Markizano put on tefillin and received a in honor of his important new appointment.
The official ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, the IDF Chief of Staff, members of the General Staff, outgoing Military Secretary Major General Roman Gofman, as well as family members, friends, and invited guests.
Rabbi Ofen extended his heartfelt blessings to Major General Markizano, wishing him much success in his new role as he works on behalf of the security of the Jewish people and Eretz Yisroel.
