    Non-Stop Purim in Namibia

I went into one of the restaurants owned by one of the Israelis, says Rabbi Yosef Rachimi, since we arrived in Namibia the young man told me that he would be happy to help us as a friend, however anything related to matters of Yiddishkeit is far from him and he is not interested • Full Story, Photos

In the state of Namibia in West Africa, extensive Purim activities concluded with major hatzlocha.

The Purim holiday began with the opening of the old synagogue after a long period that it was locked, for the reading of the megila, the shluchim took advantage of this to put on tefillin and strengthen the connection with the local Jews.

On the morning of Purim, the shluchim went out around the city to distribute Mishloach Manos and read the Megillah in several centers, with the highlight being the main Purim party at the Beis Chabad, where of course the Megillah was read and a festive Purim meal was eaten.

I went into one of the restaurants owned by one of the Israelis, says Rabbi Yosef Rachimi, since we arrived in Namibia the young man told me that he would be happy to help us as a friend, however anything related to matters of Yiddishkeit is far from him and he is not interested.

Of course I had no intention of missing this unique opportunity on the afternoon of Purim I entered the guys office while dancing, the guy was so excited that there is someone who cares abput him, and it is of course the Rebbe Melech Moshiach who makes sure that he too in a remote place like Africa has a shliach and a synagogue to attend.

We started with a heartfelt recitation of the brochos and while we started reading the Megillah the Africans around were amazed at the sight of the Megillah and knocked and banged on the recitation Haman’s name.

At the moment we are already deep in the preparations for Passover, ahead of the big matzah operation we are planning here. With hashem’s help, we will make sure that every Jew throughout the country will have a reserved matzah, as is well known, as instructed by the Rebbe Melech Moshiach.

There is no doubt, concludes Rabbi Rachimi, that this Purim will not be forgotten from the hearts of the Jews and will accompany them for many years together with the revelation of the Rebbe Melech Moshiach immediately in our days.
