Hundreds of Jews partook in the Purim festivities in Moldova this year. Events took place in Moldova’s capital, Kishinev, and in the smaller, surrounding cities of Tiraspol and Bendery as well.
Purim was marked with festive meals, the reading of Megillas Esther, performances for the children and concerts for the adults.
All of these events were organized by the emissaries of the Lubavticher Rebbe, Rabbi Zushe Abelsky, Rabbi Mendy Axelrod, as well as the students from Israel, Ariel Balon, Menachem Mendel Grinberg and Menachem Goetzel.
In Kishinev, a special guest, the famous Russian-speaking lecturer, Rabbi Moshe Gotsel, joined the community for Purim. He conducted many interesting classes on a range of Jewish topics.
