Today, as we announce Microsoft’s definitive agreement to acquire FieldOne, I am grateful and amazed by the journey we are embarking on as a company. What started as a simple idea some years ago has turned into a powerful solution that will impact millions of people around the world. I am truly humbled by this realization.
From the beginning, we have been dedicated to developing a product that is robust and thoughtfully architected, yet minimizes friction and complexity. This commitment presented a very thin line to walk, but has allowed us to remain flexible and relevant. Even as demand grew, we never developed features for features-sake, but only where we saw clear value for our customers. While these are the small details we obsess over, simplicity and customer-focus have become defining attributes of our product.
Every company faces challenges. Here at FieldOne, I am very proud of all of those who, over the years, have seen these challenges as opportunities and have built upon the potential to realize something truly great. I want to thank each and every one of our employees, both past and present, who have contributed to this effort and who will have impacted so many people’s work and lives.
I also want to thank our customers, many of whom have played a crucial role by sharing their challenges and helping us craft better solutions. We realized with them that every case, business process and need is different and we worked hard to develop a flexible and highly customizable solution, reducing implementation times, easing integration efforts and most importantly providing a solution that could easily adapt to the only constant thing: change.
Microsoft, our partner, has provided their resources, expertise and global reach and helped us get to where we are today. The future is very bright for the field service management software industry. Evolutions in technology are fueling rapid advances in the IoT, cloud, and big data. Companies need to shift from reactive to proactive service mode or they risk losing their customers. The need is blatantly obvious and with Microsoft’s resources and vision we will be taking field service to a whole new level and look forward to sharing our new developments with you. We don’t see this milestone as an end but rather as the beginning. We see this milestone as a fascinating journey rather than a destination and we welcome you to join us!
