Last night after midnight, two terrorists threw Molotov cocktails into the yard of a Chabad resident living in the Shaar Hair neighborhood, near Shikun Chabad in Lod.

In the hours that followed, the magnitude of the miracle and the disaster that was averted by pure hashgocho protis became clear.

In the yard to which a Molotov cocktail was thrown in an attempt to harm Jews, a community meeting was held ahead of a fundraising event to be held next week in favor of the establishment of new shul for the neighborhood’s Lubavitcher yungerleit.

Only 10 minutes before the attempted attack, the meeting ended and the yungerleit returned to their homes, a miracle which saved these men from injury or worse, r”l.

This morning, community members relayed that they are not intimidated to open a new shul in the neighborhood despite riots and pogroms that recently disturbed the community, among which, five shuls were burned r”l.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident.

This morning news crews arrived at the damaged house together with the police commissioner and security minister, Amir Ohana. The commissioner said: “It will be a matter of time before we get our hands on the suspects.”

MK Itamar Ben Gvir commented on the case: “Whoever dreamed of calm and silence lied, it explodes again inside. Without an operation by the police in Lod, Acre and Ramla, terrorism will intensify. ”

Eliezer, a neighbor of the tenants in the apartments on which Molotov cocktails were thrown, told Ynet: “There was a lot of luck here, half an hour before we were sitting 16 guys in a nearby apartment and suddenly after everyone dispersed we heard an explosion, we saw smoke and a crazy fire. They threw a bottle. One for the kindergarten apartment and one for the window of the children’s room on the second floor.”

The mayor of Lod, Yair Revivo, said: “This is a terrorist incident with the aim of harming the Jewish residents is a shocking thing.”
