Kiddush Hashem: Shliach Gives His Boots to Homeless Woman in the Snow

Rabbi Litvin, a Chabad Shliach in Kentucky known as the “Bourbon Rabbi,” displayed extraordinary kindness and made a great Kiddush Hashem when he went above and beyond to help a homeless woman in need • Full Story

Reflecting on the moment, Rabbi Litvin shared: “I went downtown and gave out blankets and socks to homeless people in the snow and cold. As I was about to leave, a barefoot woman approached me and asked if we had any shoes. Realizing I would be home in 20 minutes, I took off my shoes and gave them to her.”

While distributing blankets and supplies to homeless individuals, Rabbi Litvin noticed the woman standing barefoot in 8 inches of snow. Without hesitation, he removed his own boots and gave them to her, braving the cold to ensure she was taken care of.

The selfless act was captured in a powerful photo showing Rabbi Litvin without shoes in the snow, highlighting the warmth of his gesture. Rabbi Litvin’s quick and compassionate response not only provided crucial help but also brought honor to Hashem’s name, exemplifying the values of kindness and empathy, making him a true hero and a shining example of a Kiddush Hashem.
