Welcome Moshiach, CGG, and Tzivos Hashem have been working around the clock to help make sure that each and every Jewish child has a letter in their own special children’s Sefer Torah.

It would be worthwhile to refer back to 1981, when the Lubavitcher Rebbe launched the campaign for writing special Torah scrolls exclusively for Jewish children under the ages of Bar/Bas mitzvah.

On the 19th of Iyar 5741/1981, the Rebbe warned that there was a madman who was capable of pressing a button and (G-d forbid) destroying the entire world. The Rebbe said that the way to prevent this from happening was through unity in general, and specifically through writing a Sefer Torah in the Holy City of Jerusalem in the merit of Jewish children.

At that time, the Rebbe encouraged Jewish children to purchase letters in this special Sefer Torah. Two weeks later, on Shabbos Parashas Naso, 4th Sivan, the Rebbe told the members of the worldwide Chabad community to stop whatever they were doing the following day, erev Shavuos, and register children for the Sefer Torah.

That very day, which was the eve of Shavuos, the Israeli air force destroyed the nuclear reactor in Iraq in a remarkable operation!

The main purpose of the campaign is unity, because unity brings blessing. There are 304,805 letters in a Torah scroll. When 304,805 Jewish children under Bar-Bas mitzvah age from all over the world UNITE to buy a single letter in a Sefer Torah, it creates a tremendous force to bring down G-d’s blessings to the children, their families and the entire Jewish people.

The Rebbe expressed that no Jewish child should be left without a letter in the Children’s Sefer Torah.

A letter in the Children’s Sefer Torah brings blessing to the child; often the Rebbe mentioned this when people requested blessings for the health of their children, and he would emphasize that a letter should be purchased as soon as a child was born.

The Rebbe also stressed that the merit of buying a letter in a Sefer Torah is alluded to in the book of Daniel: “…There shall be a time of trouble… and that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book.” (Daniel, 12:1)

During a talk that was delivered on Parashas Lech Lecha, 5742, the Rebbe stressed: “Even if children have letters in a general Sefer Torah, this is only of secondary importance. It cannot be compared to the tremendous value of having one’s own letter in a Sefer Torah especially for children.”

Right before sending off this press release, we received the great news from Rabbi Greisman that the seventh Torah has been completed BH!! And they are now starting to sell letters for the EIGHTH one (which the number eight is clearly connected to Moshiach!).

Each child receives a beautiful colored certificate from Israel with his or her name printed on it, with the name of the Parasha of the Torah that contains that particular letter. This enhances the sense of pride, connection, and Blessings to all the participants.
