A 51-year-old Israeli passed away tragically following a COVID infection in Vietnam, located in Southeast Asia. Local authorities scrambled to have the body cremated in accordance to local laws regarding the disposal of COVID patients’ bodies.
The renowned ZAKA organization and the Israeli government, with the help of local Shliach Rabbi Menachem Hartman, managed to successfully stop the cremation and lay the body to rest in a local cemetery.
In talks with local officials, they promised that the body would eventually be transported for final burial in Eretz Yisroel.
