Two Israeli travelers, recently discharged soldiers on a post-army trip in the Philippines, were detained in recent days after reportedly running into legal trouble with local authorities, apparently due to unfamiliarity with local laws.
As soon as news of the incident emerged, local Chabad shluchim stepped in and began working with officials to assist the young men. Known for their unwavering dedication to helping Yidden—regardless of background or circumstance, the Shluchim stepped in to provide guidance, immediate support, and assistance in navigating the situation with local authorities.
They also ensured the detainees received both practical and spiritual support, while staying in close contact with their families back in Israel to provide updates and reassurance throughout the ordeal.
