Israeli Minister Pays Tribute to R’ Levik
On a state visit to Kazakhstan, Israeli Minister of Tourism, Yoel Razvozov, arrived to the Chabad Center in Almaty, the country’s largest city, to meet with Senior Shliach and Chief Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen. The minister, together with his entourage and Rabbi Cohen proceeded to the resting place of the Rebbe’s father, Horav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, where the minister prayed together with the Shluchim and local community memebers • Full Story, Photos
On a state visit to Kazakhstan, Israeli Minister of Tourism, Yoel Razvozov, arrived to the Chabad Center in Almaty, the country’s largest city, to meet with Senior Shliach and Chief Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen, as well as Rabbis Elchonon and Mordechai Cohen, where he was given a tour of the facility and participated in the community’s daily Shachris minyan.
The entourage proceeded to the resting place of the Rebbe’s father, Horav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson, where the minister prayed together with the Shluchim and local community memebers. At the ohel, Mr. Razvozov was presented with a special coin, minted in tribute to the great R’ Levik by the American government in 5780 on the occasion of the ohel’s designation as a cultural heritage site.
The group returned to the Chabad House, where they were treated to a sit-down meal, at which the minister had a chance to interact and conduct dialogue with local community leaders.
