The Israeli Health Ministry has recommended that starting Tuesday at midnight the US, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Morocco, Germany, Portugal, Canada, Switzerland and Turkey will be designated as ‘red’ countries, which means that Israelis are banned from traveling to these countries.
Israeli borders have been closed to foreign nationals since the end of November as a measure to prevent or at least slowdown the spread of Omicron in Israel. Israelis are also prohibited to travel to red countries unless they obtain a special governmental permission to do so and if they return they need to quarantine for at least seven days, even if they are fully vaccinated.
