“Israel will not allow Hezbollah to strengthen its capabilities or create any threat against it — anywhere in Lebanon,” the statement read. Officials emphasized that the Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut, a known Hezbollah stronghold, would not be permitted to serve as a safe haven for the terror organization.
The Israeli government placed direct responsibility on the Lebanese government to prevent such threats from emerging within its territory.
The statement reiterated that Israel remains committed to its wartime objectives, particularly the safe return of residents to their homes in the north, many of whom have been displaced by escalating hostilities along the border.
