According to the Directorate of Defense Research and Development, Israeli intelligence assets captured tens of millions of square kilometers of imagery over Iranian territory before and during the war. Over 12,000 satellite photos—taken around the clock—provided critical real-time information that supported Israeli strikes deep inside Iran.

During the war, Iranian forces launched a barrage of ballistic missiles aimed at Israeli cities and strategic sites. MAFAT reported that the country’s layered air defense network, including Arrow, David’s Sling, and Iron Dome batteries, successfully intercepted 86% of the ballistic missiles.

Officials estimate that the interceptions prevented approximately 50 billion shekels ($15 billion) in potential property damage—seven times the value of actual damage sustained during the attacks.

The ministry also emphasized the decisive role played by Israel’s counter-drone capabilities. Just weeks before the escalation, the Defense Ministry conducted tests of the Iron Dome’s performance against large drone swarms. Those upgrades proved critical when Iranian forces launched massive waves of unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the report, upgraded Iron Dome and David’s Sling systems intercepted 99% of incoming drones, averting even greater destruction.

The data underscores the growing sophistication of Israel’s multi-layered air defense architecture and the central role of space-based intelligence in modern warfare.

While these achievements highlight the effectiveness of Israel’s defenses in the physical dimension of the war, officials and observers alike noted that ultimately, Hashem is in charge. There were numerous open miracles that saved lives and prevented far greater damage.
