As reported in the last few days, Rabbi Moshe Meir Gluckowsky, secretary of the administration of the central Yeshiva in 770, decided – on his own accord – to close the kitchen. And since Sunday morning, the Bochurim haven’t received food from the Yeshiva.

Today, Thursday, following pressure by the Hanhalah Ruchnis and many parents of students, a rumor circled in the name of Rabbi Shlomo Zarchi that the kitchen and dining room will reopen, and any Bochur registered in the Yeshiva in 770 will continue to receive meals from the kitchen. One website even reported that the kitchen has already opened, which we at ChabadInfo.com have confirmed is not true as of late Thursday night.

While we hope that the alleged reversal will take place, it’s important to note that on Motzoei Shabbos, Rabbi Gluckowsky assured R’ Amos Cohen that the kitchen would be opened on Sunday and as we all know, the kitchen remained and still remains closed.

From then until this very moment, every few hours another rumor appears, as though the kitchen is being opened.

So, to clarify: The kitchen and dining room are still closed!

It will only be known if the kitchen is open when it reopens. Until then, everyone is asked to continue the support so that the Bochurim do not go hungry.

Of course, we will keep you updated, and hope to share the good news of the kitchen opening very soon.

In the meantime, a Charidy campaign has been set up to help keep the Bochurim fed and able to learn through this unfortunate situation.
