In a statement, the IDF expressed gratitude for Hagari’s service, highlighting his role during one of the most complex wars in Israel’s history. “The Chief of Staff wishes to express his great appreciation to Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari for his years of significant service in combat on behalf of the land of Israel. Rear Admiral Hagari has carried out his task as IDF spokesman in a professional and dedicated fashion,” the statement read.
Hagari, who enlisted in Shayetet 13 in 1995, has held several key positions in the IDF, including deputy commander of Shayetet 13, head of the Navy’s operations division, and head of the Chief of Staff’s office. Since March 2023, he has served as the IDF’s spokesman, becoming a central figure in Israel’s communications during wartime.
According to Kan News, Chief of Staff Zamir is considering appointing a spokesperson from the ground forces to replace Hagari.
