IDF Launches Largest Military Drill Since War Began, Simulating Northern Front Attacks

The large-scale exercise is being conducted by the 146th Reserve Division and the 91st “Galilee” Regional Division, with operational support from the Israeli Air Force, Navy, and various civilian emergency agencies, including the Israel Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Magen David Adom, and local defense units.

According to the IDF, the training is taking place along the Lebanon border and includes a range of simulated scenarios, such as sudden attacks originating from Lebanese territory. The goal is to assess the military’s ability to defend border communities and strategic positions while also testing its readiness to launch counteroffensives both within Israel and beyond the border.

This military exercise follows the recent redeployment of most Israeli troops from Lebanon under the current ceasefire agreement. However, the IDF continues to maintain a presence at five key strategic points in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions that pose security risks to Israel.
