IDF Eliminates Terrorist Behind Murder of Tze’ela Gez, Killed While in Labor
In a precision counterterrorism operation Shabbos afternoon, IDF and Israel Security Agency (ISA) forces eliminated a terrorist believed responsible for the cold-blooded murder of Tze’ela Gez, a young Israeli woman who was shot and killed last week while in labor, on her way to the hospital with her husband • Full Story
The heartbreaking attack occurred near Bruchin, in Samaria, where Gez and her husband were ambushed by Palestinian terrorists. While her husband sustained serious injuries, Tze’ela—who was about to give birth—tragically did not survive.
On Saturday, IDF forces operating in the nearby Arab village of Burqin arrested one suspect and encountered another individual who ran toward them shouting, while carrying a suspicious backpack, believed to be potentially booby-trapped. Soldiers, facing an immediate threat, neutralized the terrorist on the spot. No injuries were reported among Israeli forces.
Security officials believe that one of the two individuals was directly involved in the murder of Tze’ela Gez. The suspect’s identity and the contents of the backpack are currently being investigated.
Earlier that morning, several suspects connected to the terror attack were apprehended as part of a wide-scale manhunt launched immediately after the killing. The ISA and Israel Police are leading the ongoing investigation, supported by continued IDF operations across Judea and Samaria.
Thursday saw a dramatic raid in the village of Tamun, where elite Duvdevan special forces killed five terrorists and arrested another. They also recovered three M-16 rifles, four tactical vests, and other combat equipment from the scene.
In a parallel operation, undercover Border Police units arrested three additional terrorists in Tubas, seizing six M-16 rifles, a handgun, grenades, and ready-to-use explosives.
The IDF, ISA, and Israel Police emphasized their commitment to relentlessly pursue those responsible for terror and safeguard Israeli citizens: “We will not rest until justice is done,” the joint statement said.
Tze’ela Gez’s murder, especially under such tragic circumstances, has shaken the nation.
