Abu Atiwi, identified as the head of Hamas operations in Tulkarm, had been involved in numerous attacks against Israelis, including a shooting at the Ramin junction on July 16, 2024. That attack left three Israeli civilians injured.
The strike is part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts by the IDF and ISA, aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure and neutralizing threats in northern Samaria.
In a related development, the IDF, ISA, and Israel Border Police initiated a broader counterterrorism operation in Tulkarm earlier today.
