The Bibas family was abducted from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas’ horrific Simchas Torah attack. A haunting video captured Shiri clutching her children as Hamas terrorists barked orders, their terrified faces seared into the memory of the nation. After months of uncertainty and anguish, the Israeli government confirmed their tragic murder at the hands of their captors.
The levaya began at the Chevra Kadisha in Rishon L’Tzion early in the morning, with thousands of mourners standing in solemn silence as the kedoshim were taken to their final resting place at the Tzohar Beis Kevaros near Nir Oz. While the kevurah was held privately for close family and friends, the hespedim were broadcast live to Hostage Square in Tel Aviv, where thousands gathered to grieve.
During his heartbreaking eulogy, Yarden Bibas, Ariel’s father, spoke of his son’s innocence and joy:
