The Rebbe’s teachings have been disseminated widely throughout the world and made accessible to millions, in so many different ways. His discourses were translated and adapted into many languages. Regrettably, however, the Rebbe’s last talks [to date, may we merit to hear them again with the imminent arrival of Moshiach!] of the years 5751-5752 have not been accessible to the English-speaking public other than through brief snippets here and there.
While these efforts were necessary to publicize the Rebbe’s call for the coming of Moshiach and alert us to the unique times we are in, the English-speaking public did not have access to the complete version of those talks as they were issued for publication by the Rebbe in Hebrew and Yiddish. This has not only omitted access of the multitudes to the Rebbe’s complete message but has also allowed for some misunderstanding of the Rebbe’s earth-shattering teachings about Moshiach and our mission today to bring the Geulah Shleimah.
This edition of the Rebbe’s talks of the years 5751-5752, translated by Rabbi Binyomin Schlanger is, to my knowledge, the first comprehensive full and precise translation that will allow the English speaker to read, learn and apply the Rebbe’s teachings on his or her own. While there is no substitute to learning the sichos in their original, this translation comes closest to doing that.
In addition, even those who are familiar with Lashon Hakodosh and Yiddish will benefit greatly from this translation because it has made these talks easier to navigate. Dividing the Sicha into sections with illuminating headings only adds to the accessibility of these talks.
My fervent blessing to Rabbi Schlanger is to succeed in disseminating these five volumes, beautifully rendered externally and internally, so that every Jew has the opportunity to enrich himself or herself with the most powerful and timely teachings of the Rebbe, the study of which the Rebbe told us, will prepare us and hasten the revelation of Moshiach and the true and complete Geula. Amen!
