Hevron’s Chabad emissary of the last eight years, Rabbi Yitzhak Naimark, received death threats last week by local Arab who identifies with terror group Hamas.

Naimark confirms the threat and said that the terrorist, who lives in Hevron, has been bothering him for a week because of Chabad’s activities with IDF troops in the area.

“The same terrorist, who identifies with Hamas, has been disturbing me for a week. He lives in Hevron or in area near our work with soldiers, and it really bothers him,” Neimark stated.

The emissary believes the terrorist found him through Chabad’s Facebook page.

Despite not fearing for his life, Naimark said that he plans to turn to the police for help. “I do not fear for my life, but this is not pleasant. I still haven’t gone to the police, but it seems that I should reach out to them.”

Two weeks ago Fatah and Hamas issued a heated warning to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, following reports that he intends to visit the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron.

Fatah spokesman Osama al-Qawasmeh threatened that such a visit – which, in his words, will add fuel to the fire – is unacceptable and will lead to tension.

“Netanyahu is burning the furnace of religious conflicts and exploiting places of worship for his election campaign. The Cave of the Patriarchs is a holy Islamic site and a pure mosque – he manipulates all of our holy places,” al-Qawasmeh said.

Meanwhile Hamas member Izzat al-Rishaq said from Qatar: “This is a dangerous escalation and a provocation of the Palestinian people’s feelings.”

“We will not remain silent about this crime, and we will not sit idly by. The Cave of the Patriarchs will not stand up for auction for the cheap Zionist propaganda campaign.”
