According to the IDF, the operation aims to eliminate terrorist infrastructure that has fueled recent attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers. Forces from the Nahal Brigade and Duvdevan Unit have expanded their activities, launching raids in Jenin and surrounding villages. The IDF has reported dozens of arrests and the destruction of multiple weapon storage sites and explosives labs.
The Defense Minister announced that Israel will maintain a military presence in these refugee camps for at least a year to prevent terror groups from reestablishing control. He revealed that 40,000 residents have already evacuated areas of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams, and that UNRWA has ceased operations in these camps. “The IDF is systematically clearing out terror nests. We will not allow these areas to become launching pads for attacks against Israeli citizens,”.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who toured the Tulkarem refugee camp on Friday, reaffirmed the government’s aggressive approach against terrorism. “We have intensified our operations, striking deep into terror strongholds, flattening infrastructure, and eliminating key operatives. The recent wave of attempted mass-casualty attacks proves that our efforts must continue,” Netanyahu declared.
The IDF’s latest offensive comes amid growing concerns over Iran-backed militant activity in the Shomron. Israel has vowed to sustain operations until all terrorist factions are dismantled, emphasizing that the fight against radical Islamist terror is far from over.
