For Chasidim around the world, the most important thing has always been to know the latest from the Rebbe. While weekday farbrengens and sichos were broadcast worldwide, the Shabbos and Yom Tov farbrengens took time to reach the wider audience.
A team of chozrim led by Reb Yoel Kahn, A”H, would sit after Shabbos and over the next few days write a hanacha of the farbrengen, typeset, and mailing would add even more time.
So a young Yossi Jacobson started an initiative which slowly grew to be a phenomenon: right after Shabbos, he would do a chazara of the latest farbrengen, broadcasted live on the WLCC hotline. Many Chassidim in Eretz Yisroel and worldwide remember fondly these real-time updates of the latest farbrengen.
Lubavitch Lebt has recently received more recordings of these chazaras, and will be published over the coming weeks and months.
