With students confined to their homes due to school closures around the world, Rabbi Simon Jacobson is working with institutions to offer special programs in the new era of online learning.  

This past week, Rabbi Jacobson led two captivating online classes for the High School students of Beth Rivkah — one session for the 9th and 10th grades, and the second for the 11th and 12th grades. These classes included live Q&A’s, in which Rabbi Jacobson addressed the different concerns of these students. With over 250+ girls attending each session, Rabbi Jacobson responded to questions such as: How should we be reacting to the Coronavirus crisis? How can we fill our minds and time productively when the people that surround us at home are filled with worry and fear? How are we supposed to react when our parents and siblings make us frustrated? What leadership role should be taking in these trying times? What would the Rebbe expect of us?

“The girls loved the class and gained so much from being able to candidly speak with Rabbi Jacobson about a lot of the unknowns in their lives right now. They were able to ask what was on their minds and hearts. It was exciting, calming, and clarifying for all who attended and we hope he will do more in the future!” says Sara Blau, Beth Rivkah High School Extra-Curricular Director.

Due to the popularity of the high school sessions, Rabbi Simon Jacobson will be leading an online class and farbrengen for mesivta bochrim around the world on Friday, March 27th, Beis Nissan at 1:30PM EST. This Beis Nissan Farbrengen, honoring the 100th Yahrzeit of the Rebbe Rashab (1920-2020), will present relevant and timely messages from the Rebbe Rashab’s life and teachings, and offer perspectives on the current crisis and identifying our role and responsibility today.
