The Jewish community in Poltava, a city in central Ukraine, celebrated a historic three brisim that took place for two adults and one baby boy.
The brisim took place at the Chabad House of Rabbi Yosef Segal, and was performed by Moholim Rabbi Yoel Gelber and Rabbi Mendel Cohen, who arrived just for the brisim.
The brisim took place as the city mourns after Russian missiles tore through on the city, near the Or Avner kindergarten. The Russian missiles tore through a military academy and nearby hospital and killed dozens of civilians and hundreds more injured, are still hospitalized.
“We were in the Shul in the middle of singing Aleinu at the conclusion of davening when it happened,” Rabbi Segal recalled. He said that congregants did not immediately hear the blasts, but that cell phone red alerts rang in the minutes that preceded it.
