In Dnipro, a ceremonial event marking the beginning of writing a new Sefer Torah took place at “Beit Chabad Levi-Itzhak.” The Sefer Torah is a gift from the Sharynov, Dveris, Zolotarevsky, and Petrovsky families.
The ceremony, held in the recently renovated and expanded “Levi-Itzhak” synagogue was initiated by Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetski, the regional rabbi of Dnipro. Following him, the honor of writing a letter was extended to the patrons and founders of “Beit Chabad Levi-Itzhak,” members of the Supervisory Board of the Jewish Community of Dnipro, Mr. Levi Sharynov, and Mr. Itz.
After each received this great honor, a Chanukas HaBayis ceremony took place – the consecration of the Jewish house, and a mezuzah was affixed to the doorpost. The celebration concluded with a festive meal.
