In a moving ceremony, a heartfelt Siyum and Hachnosas Sefer Torah was held in Ta’anach to mark the first yahrzeit of Rabbi Saadia Jerufi, a”h, a Sofer, Mechanech, and Shliach in Avitalm, located in the Ta’anach region.
Family members, talmidim, Rabbonim, and guests gathered from near and far for this emotional event, as a new Sefer Torah was completed and dedicated in his memory at the local Chabad shul.
In the afternoon, participants assembled at the home of Rabbi Jerufi for the writing the final letters. The joyous tahalucha then paraded the new Sefer Torah through the streets of the community, with singing and dancing.
A particularly touching moment occurred when the crowd paused outside the homes of Rabbi Yitzchak Yadgar, a”h, and Rabbi Avraham Yitzchok Sassonkin, a”h—two veteran Shluchim who passed away in recent years. A special teffilah was dedicated in their memory, for the coming of Moshiach and Techiyas Hameisim of all those who have recently passed.
Upon arrival at the Chabad shul, the Torah was officially welcomed by the Gabbaim, followed by joyous Hakafos filled with energetic singing and dancing.
The celebration continued with a festive Seudas Mitzvah attended by local Rabbanim and Shluchim, serving as a tribute to the Rebbe’s Shlichus and those who dedicated their lives to it.
The evening concluded with an uplifting Farbrengen led by Rabbi Michael Tayeb, who traveled from Kfar Chabad for the occasion. The heartfelt Farbrengen extended into the late hours of the night, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
