Dovi’s Camp Gan Israel Florida Celebrates 20th Annual MBP Awards With Record Achievements

As the campers filed in, a video collage highlighting the importance of limud HaTorah was played. The program then began with Learning Director Rabbi Nosson Oster congratulating everyone on 6+ weeks of time dedicated to limud HaTorah by heart—an accomplishment totaling 48,218 lines of Torah memorized (a total that did not include the accomplishments achieved over the final days of camp). These accomplishments include:

44 Perakim Mishnayos
701 Mishnas
5,170 lines of Mishnayos
2 Mesechtos Mishnayos
54 Perakim Tanya (a new camp record)
7,738 lines of Tanya (a new camp record)
290 lines of Ma’amar Bar Mitzvah
35,048 lines of general Torah knowledge

The crowd took a moment to recognize and celebrate the wonderful gift being presented to the Rebbe.

The program then honored the campers present in camp with the most points: 1st Place – Shneur Levy, 2nd Place – Dovi Schrage, and 3rd Place – Mendel Schwartz. A special shout-out was given to camper Mendel Bortunk, who led camp throughout the summer despite leaving camp at the end of the first session.

Each camper was then called on stage to receive the seforim he had ordered from the camp’s seforim catalog, based on his point total. As each camper approached to receive his seforim and take a picture with his staff, a multimedia presentation featuring his picture and stats was simultaneously played.

Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky of chabadkid.com for providing the digital platform used to track all the information.

The crowd applauded all the staff in appreciation of their dedication to encouraging and testing the campers throughout the summer. Special recognition was given to staff members Dovid Geisinsky, Gedalia Melul, and Aizik Rosenfeld for never missing a day in MBP testing, as well as for preparing the day’s celebration.

Camp Gan Israel Florida’s administration, under the leadership of Rabbi Yossi Biston and Rabbi Yossi Goldblatt, wishes everyone success in their studies for the upcoming school year and that these accomplishments bring about the revelation of Moshiach Now, as it is written: אין כל הגלויות הללו מתכנסות אלא בזכות המשניות.
