A large,  joyful event took place in Dnipro, Ukraine’s Menorah Center – the first chag hasemicha held by Lemaan Yilmedu, an organization facilitating the semicha learning for Anash around the globe. Lemaan Yilmedu has crafted semicha courses in several languages, including Russian.

“Our training at the Lemaan Yilmedu took two years,” said Rabbi Shmuel Livshits, “We studied hard and hard, passed the exams, and now a representative delegation from Israel arrived in Dnipro to present us with diplomas: Chief Rabbi of Holon Eliyahu Yochanan Gurary, Chief Rabbi of Kiryat-Ata Chaim Shlomo Diskin, Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva from Ramat Aviv Chaim Yosef Ginzburg, the head of the institute where we studied, Rabbi Yisroel Yehuda Leib Mel, and other respected rabbis. Also, the teacher of our group, Rabbi Shmuel Fortman a-Parzi, came to the ceremonial presentation of diplomas to us. ”

Speaking at the event, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminetsky, congratulated the rabbis on receiving their diplomas and stressed that the title of rabbi places a special responsibility on them and obliges them to a lot.
