After the chilling murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, Shliach in Abu Dhabi. Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli issued an official letter on Sunday addressed to Chabad Shluchim in Eretz Yisroel and abroad. In it, he expressed his condolences and praised the work the Shluchim do.

“At this difficult time, we were informed that the Chabad Shliach in Abu Dhabi, Rabbi Zvi Kogan, was murdered in cold blood in the land of his Shlichus.”

“Rabbi Kogan was a pillar of the Jewish community in the Gulf, an address to every Jew wherever he is, and a model of dedication and devotion. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Since Simchas Torah 5784, our nation has faced an existential struggle. The regime of the Ayatollahs (Iran) and their terrorists seek to destroy every trace of Israel, in a multi-scene attack of terror and hatred, from the south and the north to the murky waves of anti-Semitism around the world. This is a horrifying situation the likes of which we have not known since the dark 1930’s. And this morning, for the first time, the attack was aimed directly at Chabad Shluchim.

“But it is natural that such a fine Jewish institution, uniting all corners of the nation, would be a target for our enemies.”

“You, the Shluchim, with wonderful dedication, give every Jew in every corner of the world a sense of identity and belonging, add thousands and thousands of meaning and spirit, and symbolize the Jewish being in all its glory. In this way, you fulfill the great vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and ignite the light of Yiddishkeit even in the dark Bless you and bless your lot.

“As Minister of the Diaspora, I hereby undertake: Israel will do everything in its power to protect you and support your mission. For us, you are the ultimate ambassadors of the Jewish people, and thousands of Chabad Houses serve as a wonderful network of light and hope for all Jews and Israelis on earth. In this context, I placed my offices be prepared accordingly”.

“Ahead of upcoming Kinus Hashluchim, I will bless you: ” ואמצו אל תיראו ואל תערצו מפניהם כי ה’ אלוקיכם הוא ההלך עמך.”

“Continue in the holy work you are doing, for genius and glory, with a happy heart and a willing soul. Until we get to proclaim together – Didan Notzach!”.
