Delta to Resume Daily Nonstop Flights from New York to Tel Aviv

Starting April 1, Delta Air Lines will resume daily nonstop flights from New York’s JFK Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel, marking the return of direct service between the two cities after a hiatus due to security concerns. The airline will operate its Airbus A330-900 aircraft, offering nearly 2,000 weekly seats • Read More

Delta’s return to Israel comes after nearly nine months of suspension, following the tensions between Israel and Iran that forced US carriers to halt flights in July 2024. The airline’s decision coincides with a broader trend of airlines restarting operations to Israel, with competitors like Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, and others planning returns to Tel Aviv as well.

Additionally, Delta has expanded its presence in Israel through a codeshare agreement with EL AL, allowing Delta customers to book flights on EL AL’s nonstop routes to Tel Aviv from major U.S. cities like Boston, Miami, and Los Angeles.

Delta’s pilots and flight attendants will remain overnight in Tel Aviv, which allows for seamless service without crew changes in nearby countries. United Airlines is expected to follow suit in the coming months, while American Airlines has announced it will not resume service until mid-2025.
