Today (Wednesday), Defense Minister Israel Katz held a situation assessment at Home Front Command headquarters, together with Home Front Command Commander‎ Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, Defense Ministry Director General Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, acting head of RAHEL, the staff chief of Home Front Command, and additional senior officials. Following the meeting, and in accordance with the recommendations of the IDF Chief of Staff and Home Front Command, the Minister approved stage-by-stage easing of defense guidelines nationwide.

    Defense Minister Israel Katz said:

“The decision to begin reopening the economy and different regions is a message of victory over the Iranian enemy. They come to harm and shut us down — and we are not only responding with force against them and protecting the public, but also beginning a gradual reopening of the economy and regions, all subject to security considerations.”

He added, “The fact that frontline communities in the north and the communities surrounding Gaza in the south will receive significantly greater relief than they have had up until now is a powerful message of strengthening and providing opportunity precisely to those regions, at the forefront of our national effort.”

“The guiding principle behind all measures and decisions is zero bureaucracy for civilians. The citizen who needs to be evacuated will be evacuated with zero bureaucracy — they must be assisted and supported. I applaud the recommendation of the IDF, Chief of Staff, and Home Front Command.”

“Alongside the intensified combat we will wage against Iran until the threats are removed, we will reopen the economy, ease restrictions on citizens, and return Israel to the path of productivity, activity, and security.”

The Home Front Command Commander added:

“Home Front Command is deployed and ready, together with emergency and rescue organizations, police, fire services, MDA, and local authorities, truly to provide rapid response to every event.”

“We will continue to provide security and respond to every incident. After our extensive assessment, both in a broad view and specifically of the home front, having seen the great resilience of the public and their commendable behavior, we recommended — and the Minister approved — certain easing measures in the home front.”

“I believe this is extremely important; it demonstrates resilience and the ability to return to active life. But it is also based on the IDF’s offensive and defensive efforts, and heavily on the behavior of the public.”

“It is crucial to emphasize that this does not mean the war is over. Citizens must continue to follow Home Front Command instructions, and, when they hear an alert, take shelter — because this truly saves lives, and enables us to continue striking at Iran.”
