On Monday, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant convened a meeting focused on the recruitment of bnei yeshivos, attended by IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Deputy Chief of Staff Amir Baram, Maj.-Gen. Yaniv Asor, head of the IDF Manpower Directorate, and Maj.-Gen. Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, the military advocate general.
The IDF presented a summary of findings from the initial phase of Chareidi recruitment, highlighting the disappointingly low response rate to the first 3,000 draft orders.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Gallant endorsed the IDF’s recommendation to issue an additional 7,000 initial draft orders for bnei yeshivos, which will be distributed in the coming days.
