    Crown Heights Shmira responded to two separate incidents over the weekend, both highlighting the importance of community vigilance and fast action.

    In one case, witnesses reported seeing a man attempting to access a private garage. Though he fled the scene before police arrived, a photo of the suspect was captured and shared with Shmira. Volunteers are now asking residents to stay alert and report any sightings.

    In a second, unrelated incident, the individual responsible for stealing a scooter on Shabbos has been apprehended. Thanks to coordinated efforts between Shmira and the NYPD, the suspect was arrested and the stolen scooter successfully recovered.

    Shmira reminds residents to stay aware of their surroundings and to secure personal property—especially as warmer weather often brings an uptick in opportunistic crime.
